Yes , I am an ordinary person with extra ordinary dreams!  And a Baby Boomer who still believes that there is a wonderful, prosperous future ahead of us. Do you realize that you can live another 30-40 years after retirement? That is according to stats from Fin24 ( Sept 2016). This is another lifetime ahead of us.  Is the future going to be good or are we going to depend on our children or a state pension? Are you living up to your dreams or have you given up on them?

Grown ups  has stop dreaming! When I was 16,  I dreamt about owning a red sport car. It was so real that I could see my self driving it, and feel the wind in my hair!  I could smell the black leather seats, and could hear the roaring sound of the engine, but then life happened. I was involved in a serious car accident, dropped out of school, finished my matric via a correspondence course, and then I got married and started to raise kids. I don’t know exactly when my dreams faded away, but I soon realized that the wife of an ordinary employee would never get to that red sports car dream……

I got married 47 years ago with the best husband in the world (for me), who always sees and treats me like a queen and we have 2 boys, who we are very proud of, 2 daughters in law and 4 grandchildren. I was a stay-at-home-mum for 18 years, with a passion to help others and did free community service for 33 years as a First Aider. I also host woodcarving and craft classes since 1984. In 1989, I was offered a part time job as a PRO at our local Community Chest.  Although I was scared to start a formal working career, I accepted the challenge and enjoyed it to be able to generate money for the underprivileged. Then our local Child Welfare Branch convinced me that they needed my expertise to generate money for them and I worked for them for five years.

As a child, I always wanted to be a teacher and grasped the opportunity  to work as a PRO for a School for Children with Learning Disabilities in our area, raising  funds for them and after 5 years there, I left for another school as a Marketing Manager.  My job was to evaluate and generate projects for the school.

At this school, one of my colleagues presented me with a video that explains a Network Marketing Opportunity. My first thought was: “This was too good to be true”, but God granted me the wisdom to start to investigate this Networking business and I decided to join. I realised that I can ask people if they are open to earn an extra income and then if they say yes, point them to a website  or sit down with them and watch a live streamed business presentation where the CEO explains everything.

My husband wasn’t thrilled about this new business concept either; he boldly stated: “Someone is going to loose their money, you can’t make money by saving it”. I took him to an official presentation and he changed his mind and no he is my best supporter and is working with me. He did not understand the concept, hence his opinion. I saw in networking the opportunity to teach people to fish instead of giving them a fish, but it was a very difficult decision for me, as I was deep down scared that this might be a Ponzi /pyramid scheme (Which is illegal in South Africa), and I knew that I would not be able to live with myself, if I was the cause of other people to get financially hurt.

Back in 1997, I started to investigate this networking business and contacted the Reserve Bank, the Financial Services Board, the Direct Selling Association and even sent the information to a chartered accountant at Coopers & Leibrandt in London. They all advised me to go for it as it proved to be a legitimate business. At that time, there was no proof of people making good money, but we bought into the concept and I made the informed decision to make this venture work for me.  Today, 21 years later, I still believe that decision  was the best decision that I have ever made in my entire life!

I knew that  there was only one way to convince my husband and that is to show him the money, and I did. I am earning a residual, growing income for 257 months in a row now.  And by the way,  my husband is not negative anymore and he is just as committed to networking as I am. I know now that I am offering people a gift, the gift of financial freedom, but it is their own choice whether they accept my gift or not; use it or abuse it and if it is good enough for me it is good enough for anybody else.  For a change, YOU are in control and can decide what, when, where, how and with whom do you want to do business with and how much time do you want to spend on it. Nobody is overseeing you, you are your own boss, but we are working as a team together and help is always available, plus total company support whenever you need it.
